West Virginia has been planning for a possible flu pandemic for many years.  In addition, businesses, schools, healthcare facilities, communities and families have been encouraged to prepare.  Tools to support pandemic planning for each sector can be found on West Virginia's Pandemic Flu Resource website and the HHS Pandemic Flu Resource website. 
 

While the specifics of response to the current pandemic have had to be adapted to the characteristics of the H1N1 virus, this planning provided a good foundation for current response.
