At Home

What can YOU do at Home to Prepare for Pandemic Flu?

  • Preparing and staying informed are the best responses for individuals.
  • Stay informed through the news media and/or the Internet. Information will be provided to the public on a continual basis, especially during an outbreak.
  • Develop a family preparedness plan that addresses school closings, travel limitations and emergency contacts. Prepare a disaster supply kit for home, work and vehicles.
  • People should anticipate that daily life could change and activities could be curtailed. If you are able, seek volunteer opportunites in your community to help with emergency response.
  • A checklist and fill-in sheets for family health information and emergency contact information have been prepared to help guide your planning and preparation.
